Val & Ed

Hey there

We are Val and Ed, a married couple photographing other married couples. We work together at every wedding, which means two people who already know what the other one is about to do, and two very different angles on the same moment.

Our work is journalistic. We would rather wait for something real than arrange something that looks like it. That usually means standing back for long stretches of the day, staying quiet, and being ready when the room finally forgets about us.

Before anything is booked we like to actually meet you. Every couple has their own pace and their own sense of humour, and knowing that in advance is what makes the photographs look like you rather than like a wedding.

Home is Winter Park, just outside Orlando, and most of our year is spent across Central Florida. The rest of it we spend on planes. Bella Collina, the Four Seasons Resort here in Orlando and a walled garden in Siena are the three places we would go back to tomorrow.

Between weddings we are at home with our two boys, which is its own kind of documentary practice.
